Yesterday, I discovered that I get better times when I am running under pressure.
I only had a half an hour between the time I left work at 4:30 and had to be back at 5:00 p.m. for a staff meeting. So, I went to the local YMCA, hopped on the treadmill, upped the speed to 3.5 and went on my way. About 28 minutes into the run, I checked the stats and noticed that I had run almost 2 miles. I decided to finish to the full Monty and smashed 2 miles in 29:30 minutes and got to my meeting just a few minutes late.
I always said that I work better under pressure.
