I think it is safe to say that spring is finally here. That means no more being handcuffed to the dreaded treadmill.  

I absolutely hate this machine. I hate having to depend on it when the weather is bad. It slows my run and sets me back on distsnce and stamina.

I’ve had the joy ofrunning outdoors for the past week, as temperatures are rising. I love running outside. I used to be very self-conscious about being seen, by people who were driving by, because of:

  1. My weight (yes, I am overweight)
  2. My slowness (but getting slightly faster

I got used to running in the very early morning because I wouldn’t have to face people and there was little or no traffic and I could run in the street. Well, those days are over. I’ve decided to take advantage of my lunch break, and instead of working through my lunch, I will run through my lunch. I did it yesterday and it actually refreshed me and took away the afternoon sluggishness that usually onsets mid-afternoon.

I’m looking forward to many more “running” lunches. As for the drivers who see me in broad daylight…at least I’ve made it off the couch.
